Miley Cyrus to get Walk of Fame star after it once sent her to the ICU

Miley Cyrus will soon have her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The “Party in the U.S.A.” singer and actress is a member of the iconic attraction’s 35-member Class of 2026, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced Wednesday. The list of honorees was chosen from hundreds of nominees and confirmed by the organization’s board of directors last month.

Cyrus, for one, was ecstatic.

“Honored to be receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” she wrote on Instagram. “When I first came to LA from Nashville as a little girl, my family would stay at a hotel on Hollywood Blvd, and I would go on late night walks with my dad when no one would recognize him. We’d have the gift shops to ourselves & buy knock off Oscars and Marilyn Monroe merchandise. To now be cemented on this legendary boulevard, surrounded by the icons who inspired me, feels like a dream. This moment will live forever, thank you to everyone in my life who made it possible. I am grateful to share this star with you.”

Her words captioned a video with scenes from her visual album, Something Beautiful, that was released last month. It depicts her crawling over and writhing around the attraction — a move that didn’t end well.

As the former Hannah Montana star explained in May on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the experience left her physically ill. She found herself in a hospital ICU weeks after filming, because her leg had begun to, as she put it, “disintegrate in some way around the kneecap area.”

When doctors asked her if she’d done anything to get a “brutal infection,” she told them what she’d done. They were grossed out that she’d rolled around the ground of such a highly-trafficked tourist attraction, which Cyrus joked that she took offense to because, after all, they “see inside the guts of humans.”

“We are excited to announce the newest selections of 35 esteemed individuals who will be enshrined onto the Walk of Fame as part of the prestigious Class of 2026,” Chairman Peter Roth said in a statement. “These talented individuals have made significant contributions to the world of entertainment, and we are thrilled to honor them   with   this   well-deserved   recognition.
