This BC spot ‘nestled between two lakes’ with golden beaches was named among Canada’s best

People love this spot in B.C., with it’s soft sand beaches, lake views, and small-town vibes. It’s a vibrant community set between two lakes and surrounded by stunning scenery.

While it’s technically a city, Penticton has small-town vibes, and was even named among the best small towns to live in, in Canada — by Narcity readers.

Penticton is tucked away in the legendary Okanagan region of the province, a place known for sunny weather and summer fun. While is has the charm of a small town, here’s lots to do here that makes it the perfect vacation spot.

We’re talking markets, orchards, great restaurants, and lakeside fun. Then there’s the wineries that the Okanagan region is famed for (there’s over 80 nearby town).

A summer trip isn’t complete without some beach days. Pentiction has a few beaches to choose from, and according to the tourism website it’s actually one of “just two cities in the world located in between two lakes.”

On the north end of the city you have Okanagan Lake, and on the south there’s Skaha Lake. Peppering the shoreline of each are dreamy beaches with soft golden sand.

Okanagan Beach is near downtown so makes for an easy go-to nearby restaurants. Skaha Lake Park & Beach is another hot-spot, with a park that makes a picnic day easy.

Sun-Oka Beach & Provincial Park is a bit further out (still, only 10 minutes from town) but is unbelievably beautiful.

Beach-going is fun, but there’s a lot to do right in town. On Saturdays, Main Street comes alive with vendors, selling everything from fresh fruit to crafts.

If you want to work a little harder for your produce you can head out to the U-Pick farms around town. The Channel Float here also makes for a fun summer activity. You can get a floatie and head down the lazy river, which is seven kilometers long.

This spot is bustling with local businesses so you have everything you need, but incredible nature all around that balances it out. If you want a classic summer beach vacation vibe and lots to do – head here.
