Tom Brady Doesn’t Think Sofía Vergara Is ‘Too Old,’ Rep Says

Tom Brady’s representative is quashing claims that the NFL legend believes actor Sofía Vergara is “too old” for him, but stopped short of shutting down rumors of a romance between the two.

On Friday, Brady’s rep issued a brief statement to People in response to a Daily Mail report that alleged the former New England Patriots quarterback, 47, viewed Vergara, 53, as “older and stuck in her ways,” and therefore, not compatible with him as a romantic partner.

“Tom never said, nor would he ever say, anything like this,” the statement to People read. “It is pure fiction.”

Speculation over the nature of Brady’s relationship with Vergara began heating up earlier this month when the two were photographed aboard the Ritz-Carlton’s new luxury yacht, Luminara, in Europe. Also reportedly present on the yacht’s two-day maiden voyage were Kate Hudson, Naomi Campbell, and Colman Domingo, among other stars.

Vergara appears seated next to Brady in a photo the “Modern Family” actor shared last week as part of a carousel of images documenting the trip.

Rumors Tom Brady, left, and Sofia Vergara are dating began heating up earlier this month.

“What a perfect weekend full of surprises!” Vergara wrote in the caption.

Brady has been single since his 2022 split from supermodel Gisele Bündchen, with whom he shares two children, after 13 years of marriage. He was recently linked in the media with model Irina Shayk, whose famous exes include actor Bradley Cooper and soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo.

Vergara and Brady have never publicly confirmed a relationship.

Vergara split from “True Blood” actor Joe Manganiello in 2023 after seven years of marriage. In 2024, she went Instagram-official with a new boyfriend, orthopedic surgeon Justin Saliman, but seemingly confirmed to “Access Hollywood” she was single once again while attending the Golden Globes in January.

Last month, Vergara addressed what she’s looking for in her next relationship in an interview with NBC’s “Today.”

“I want to say the basic stuff, like health and somebody that loves me,” she explained. “And somebody tall, handsome. I want somebody that has as much money as me or more, because if not, it’s a nightmare. They end up resenting you.”

Another priority is “somebody fun,” she added: “I need fun in my life.”
