Apparently even a heartthrob like Brad Pitt gets starstruck sometimes.
While appearing on Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce’s ”New Heights” podcast Wednesday, the Oscar winner, 61, spilled the beans about the two female co-stars that left him absolutely captivated during their first encounter.
“When I first met Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon, I was… Yeah,” Pitt said of his “Thelma & Louise” co-stars. “I got over it quickly, though.”
Pitt memorably starred as J.D., a suave hitchhiker who slept with Thelma (Davis) before stealing money from the tight knit pair. The 1991 film marked his breakout role that kicked off his now 30-plus-year Hollywood career.
The “Fight Club” star has spoken highly of Davis in the past. He previously praised the star’s approach to their intimate scene in “Thelma & Louise.”
“Geena [Davis] was so sweet and kind and delicate,” Pitt recalled of filming the scene with Davis in a 2023 interview with W Magazine. “That love scene, I think, went on for two days of shooting. She took care of me.”
And the admiration was apparently mutual as Davis gushed about Pitt herself while speaking to People in 2020.
“He just has ‘it.’ I could tell when he was auditioning that he was super talented. He has done so many incredible things over the years,” she told the outlet of Pitt. “He really is the ‘star’ of the moment.”
Meanwhile, Sarandon applauded Pitt for “pushing the envelope” on set.
“He took [J.D.] as a character part and as we can see from his career, he really continued to push the envelope in ways that he really didn’t have to when you look [good] like that,” Sarandon told Extra in 2021.
