Canadians say Tim Hortons needs to bring back these donuts and you might not remember them all

Tim Hortons has brought back some “retro donuts” over the last few years.

But Canadians have revealed even more discontinued donuts that should be on the menu, and you probably don’t remember all of these flavours.

Only a few donuts are always available at Tims, and a lot of baked goods have been taken off the menu over the decades.

So, Narcity posted on Facebook and asked, “Which discontinued donuts do you want Tim Hortons to add back to the menu?”

There are almost 600 comments on the post, and Canadians shared more than 40 donuts, including some you might not remember.

The top three discontinued donuts that Canadians want Tim Hortons to bring back are the walnut crunch, dutchie and blueberry fritter.

Then, the eclair, cherry stick and powdered jelly donut round out the top five.

A lot of people said these retro donuts need to be put back on the menu:

  • lemon filled
  • orange twist
  • bowtie
  • strawberry blossom
  • long john

The blossom donut — which is also known as the bloom donut — looks like a flower with petals, and it has a dollop of fruit-flavoured jelly in the centre.

Some said the lemon and blueberry blossom donuts need to make a comeback, along with the strawberry flavour.

After those top choices, a few Canadians commented that these donuts should be on the Tim Hortons menu again:

  • cherry cruller
  • chocolate toasted coconut
  • cinnamon sugar old fashioned
  • cream supreme
  • banana cream
  • apple spice
  • sugar twist

The cream supreme was basically a Boston cream donut, but it was filled with whipped cream instead of custard cream.

If you never tried the apple spice donut when it was on the menu, it had apple pie filling and was rolled in cinnamon sugar.

Only a few people said Tim Hortons needs to bring back these discontinued donuts:

  • lemon cake
  • cherry filled
  • maple dip
  • cherry chip
  • peanut crunch
  • cinnamon sugar twist

Then, some Canadians told Narcity that the powdered Venetian cream, toasted coconut,Canadian maple, strawberry vanilla, honey stick, andtoffee glazed donuts deserve a spot on the menu.

You might think the Canadian maple is like the maple dip donut, but it’s not. Canadian maple donuts were filled with Venetian cream and topped with maple-flavoured fondant.

These donuts only got one comment each from Canadians who think they should be added back to the Tims menu:

  • cherry twist
  • strawberry fritter
  • powdered banana filled
  • powdered strawberry filled
  • powdered blueberry filled
  • powdered custard filled
  • cherry glazed
  • lemon glazed
  • blueberry glazed
  • caramel apple fritter
  • strawberry stick
  • sour cream plain

You might not remember all of these discontinued donuts since some were on the menu in the ’80s and ’90s.

But some might be familiar because Tims has brought back a few of them as limited-edition retro donuts over the last few years.

That includes the walnut crunch, dutchie, cherry stick, blueberry fritter, sugar twist, cinnamon sugar twist, and lemon cake donuts.

Tim Hortons hasn’t said if it will continue to bring back retro donuts as limited-edition menu items, but it seems that a lot of Canadians want these discontinued donuts on the menu permanently!
