Software is redefining automotive, but do car buyers care?

I just want the easiest conduit, the least bad version, something that works every time and is deliberately designed to be unannoying.  For me, this is the optimum that user-facing car software can be. I’m not convinced it’s enough reason alone to buy a car, although I am 100% sure that it’s enough reason to not buy one.

Touchscreens in cars? The truth is we need them

Remember those separate single-DIN equaliser units with sliders in ’80s and ’90s cars? What a waste of space those were. When sensibly implemented, touchscreens can make a limited amount of dashboard space much more useful by giving the driver quick and easy access to a multitude of functions while keeping the peripheral stuff out of sight.
