Spice Girl Mel B marries hairstylist Rory McPhee

Two become one! Melanie “Mel B” Brown has spiced up her life by tying the knot with her longtime partner, hairstylist Rory McPhee.

The Spice Girls singer, 50, wed McPhee, 37, at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London on Saturday.

Mel B, formerly known as “Scary Spice,” donned a classic white gown with beaded sleeve and collar detailing for the occasion, while McPhee wore a traditional Scottish kilt. Afterwards, the couple posed for photos and celebrated their union on social media, sharing snaps of the big day with two joint posts.

“MARRIED,” they captioned one photo, while the other simply read, “05.07.25,” referencing the date of their nuptials.

Some of the famous faces who attended the wedding include one of Mel B’s former group mates, “Baby Spice” Emma Bunton, along with Cara Delevingne, comedian Katherine Ryan, and model Daisy Lowe. 

While Spice Girls alums Victoria Beckham (a.k.a. Posh Spice) and Melanie “Mel C” Chisholm (Sporty Spice) were not in attendance, both made sure to shout out the couple’s marriage on social media. 

“So happy for you both and beyond gutted I couldn’t be there,” wrote Chisholm. “Excited to celebrate with you really soon.”

In her own post, Beckham wrote, “Congratulations to you both. We hope you had the most amazing day.”

Mel B recently revealed that Beckham designed one of her wedding gowns, as well as the dress her mother wore.

“It’s such a beautiful honor to get,” she said during a 2024 visit to Today, teasing her plans to wear more than one look for her big day. “I don’t think it would be fair to just have one. Just have as many as you want — at least three, right? I’m going to really go for it.”

Mel B’s three daughters served as her bridesmaids at the ceremony. The singer shares her eldest daughter, Phoenix, 26, with her first husband, dancer Jimmy Gulzar, to whom she was married from 1998 to 2000. She shares her second daughter, Angel Iris, 18, with her ex-boyfriend Eddie Murphy, and her third, Madison, with her ex-husband Stephen Belafonte, whom she wed in 2007 before they divorced a decade later.

Mel B and McPhee met through friends in 2018 and began dating the following year, though they initially kept their relationship out of the limelight, announcing their engagement in 2022. By that point, the couple had begun posting about one another on social media, with McPhee — who worked with Brown on the second season of The Masked Singer U.K. — often sharing snaps of the hairstyles he gave his now-wife.

Mel B detailed McPhee’s proposal during her visit to Today, saying he designed her engagement ring himself and hid it in a sock drawer for three months before finally popping the question. “I’m like, ‘What made you think I wouldn’t go in the sock drawer?’ He goes, ‘Well, you never go in my sock drawer,'” she recalled. “I’m like, ‘Well anything could have happened to it!'”

Mel B then explained that McPhee proposed at her favorite hotel in Berkshire, England, and, unaware of his plans, she insisted on taking her dogs with them. 

“I was like, ‘I’m not going anywhere unless we bring the dogs,’ so I’ve got my two Rottweilers, my little Cookie, and the whole room’s decked out with flowers,” she recalled, noting that it took her a few minutes to piece everything together. “I’m like, ‘Oh, this is — God, they’ve really made an effort with this hotel room, haven’t they?’ And then it started to sink in. And then he just got down on one knee, and I was like, ‘Oh my God!'”
